Seats
The majority of triple buggies start life as single pushchairs. However, some models can be converted to accommodate an additional seat or carrycot using adapters (these are usually more common in tandem buggies). Check out the Joie Evalite Duo for a lightweight option perfect for city streets. It is easy to maneuver and has a large basket with lots of storage. It can hold twins from birth and will accommodate two car seats or an infant carrycot and seat. The seats must face towards the front and there is no space to store an item under the seat. You will require an additional side bag.
If you're looking to travel off-road then the Mountain Buggy Duet is a great option. It is a side by side model with the smallest footprint of any double buggy on the market. It is easier to get through narrow doors as well as on public transport. It is also able to climb up and over kerbs. Another option that is lightweight is the UPPAbaby Vista 2 Double that can be used for twins or a toddler and baby. Suspension
The quality of the suspension on a triple buggy is crucial to how it is easy for you and your baby/s to push. A smooth ride is vital as babies can feel every bump on the road, especially if it's on rough terrain such as grass or dirt roads. Certain models come with front tires that lock to assist in maneuvering and getting over obstacles like curbs.

Folding
A three-wheel double buggy could be folded up easily to store it. There are options that fold flat and stand up (as as if they're in a pushchair position) as well as those that pop open to reveal a more umbrella-like fold that has the option of a brake operated by hand. In general the more wheels a buggy comes with, the easier it will be to handle over rough terrain. This is especially true if the wheels are larger than the typical size. You will have more stability and it will be less likely that you have to flip or tip your child.

Another alternative is the phil&teds sport which is future-proof since it's great as a single buggy from day one and can be adapted to take two (or even three!) in its small footprint. It is a clever three-wheel design with a sling for greater maneuverability and stability.
